A ddep dive review of the Reddit user interface by Peter Ramsay...
I'm assuming most of us here want a large community. The reality is most people aren't into technology nearly as much as many of the people actually on the Fediverse. For other people who are into tech (like myself and a lot of people here), the federation technology itself being promoted as a core component of the appeal makes...
Is there an app that allows me to use both Lemmy and Mastodon (and possibly other Fediverse programs?)
This is a very long gif (almost 2 minutes) open mp4...
Hi. Is there a tool to see fastest growing Lemmy communities? It’s easy to see the big communities, but it would be helpful to see fast growing communities to join in with community building for things you may have an interest in. is there anything that currently does this?
I thought maybe when I click on the communities page on Lemmy.world, that I could then sort the list of communities/magazines/servers by clicking on the subscribers column and it would sort the list by that column....

With Threads/Meta heading for the fediverse, and Tumblr looking at ActivityPub, how would you feel if Reddit decided to add support and federate Kbin & Lemmy?...
I heard it will be on the Fediverse. Is it true? I heard it had 30 millions users registered on the first day. Wtf. The whole Fediverse doesn’t even have 10 millions users. I heard it will not be available in Europe, yet. I visited www.threads.net and I don’t know if it’ll be the Threads instance to the Fediverse....
Everyone is talking about how Meta is trying to Embrace, Extend, and Extinguish the Fediverse. Meta won’t be alone for long in this goal, there will be a lot of capitalist actors that would try to do the same in the long run....
Hello all! I am new to the Fediverse, and am currently exploring it all. Very exciting concept and future! So far, I am here on Lemmy (Reddit alternative) and Nostr (Twitter alternative). Which Fediverse software is the best Facebook alternative? Thanks in advance!
Had to split post (because it’s loo long?), see comments....
I would really like the ability to create my own algorithm. For example, I follow communities for my local sportsball team and memes. Memes, I really just want to see what’s “hot” for the last day but my sportsball I want to see everything posted for the last week....
From 3000 daily active users on June 1, 2023 to 47500 on June 26, 2023....
Ok, so here’s a situation I ran into, and thought of a solution for, but I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know if this is possible....
I dunno how many here have given it a try yet, or simply don’t ever intend to but are nevertheless a little curious, so I’m putting down some notes here....
If you’re a developer working on a fediverse app or service and want to get it right – or just don’t want to be the center of the next firestorm – here are a few suggestions.
Hello! Im Trying out peertube and have some unanswered questions. Iv been having some troubles figuring out how to use that platform. One problem is that it takes much time to find an instance with open registration. But its Ok, not a big problem....
An awesome new app just got released for free on itch.io, that lets Fedizens create their own MTG-style playing cards.
If your instance is not up to date (see footer), you can pass this along to your admins to check
I just had that problem when you browse to a Mastodon post and ⭐️ it, or try to follow someone. The choreography is clumsy, and the kind of thing that will hinder mainstream adoption of ActivityPub....
If you think Lemmy is a bit too quiet today, that’s probably why....
