Hi. I got a new instance of Lemmy up on my server, but outgoing emails aren’t working with Gmail. I have a paid account with Gmail, and previously have used outgoing mail with other services(like phpbb and Mastodon), and they worked. If you can provide some help, that would be much appreciated. So I just started with the fediverse, I heard about it for years, but never did the real jump to go full in. For now I started with lemmy because it seems to be the easiest option. I wanted to do a small recap of tip, tricks and general usage flow....

I have a server I can use for hosting “stuff”. I want to add containers to host and help with the fediverse load balancing. Lemmy is a pain so if anyone has a simple docker yaml, could you share? And pixelfed is really cool so anyone know how to dockerize it and share it’s yaml? Cheers friends!

So I’m using mlem and wefwef apps. Issues with my comments and posts being posted. Also mlem app seems to have issues with photos both non nsfw and nsfw. Anyone else?

I'm new to Lemmy, and I was not a Reddit user. I have been using Mastodon regularly since November, so I am familiar with the general concepts of instances in the Fediverse....

Granted, the warning says clearly “If you deselect Undetermined, you will not see most content”, which places the onus on the individual user, as apposed to logic built into Lemmy on which posts/comments can be viewed, while also leaving it to each user to have to weed out alternate languages for their views which are...

I’m currently on a mission to compile a list of health-related communities and overall maybe turn that community into something useful and available to everyone. (If someone wants to help, I’ll welcome it. This is just a quick and dirty start.)...

It would be nice to see a feature or some kind of extension to redirect Lemmy links from other instances to yours so you can interact with them. Because you need an accound to interact and it’s on another instance....

On Reddit you could make a custom feeds with selected subreddits for when you wanted to focus on specific topics. Suuuuper useful for more niche stuff that gets drowned out by larger subs on the Home feed....
