Would you rather be a cowboy, a pirate or a samurai?
Found this question on an Instagram reel as dating advice for girls if they don’t know what to talk about and that men have a lot of opinions about this. Let’s see if she’s right.
How do you guys remember the early days of the internet? What do you miss about it? (tim.kicker.dev)
Wanted to ask you about this article, how do you remember the early days of the internet (I was sadly too young at that time). Do you wish it back? And do you think it can ever be like that again? I would be very interested
What website/app do you use to read ebooks?
I am trying to find a good service to read ebooks (preferably for free) but as long as it is a good experience I don’t mind paying. Thanks for your opinion.

I noticed my car had been keyed this morning. How should I go about fixing it?
I’m pretty sure this happened away from home and I’m just now noticing. The scratch is really deep hitting the metal in the deepest part. I have full coverage but I’m worried a claim will raise my insurance too much to be worth it. I’ve wrenched on cars before but never painted anything because it scares me....

What foods can last 3-4 days without refrigeration?
I’m going to be camping for 4 days at a location without easy access to fire (hence no boiled water). As such, I’m going to be packing a bunch of canned stuff for my daily meals. The place is in England, where we’re expecting a few hot days this week and maybe some rain over the weekend....
How hard would it be to implement an emoji reaction system (like Telegram) instead of Up or Downvotes?
I recently read a funny comment and wanted to give it the 😂 reaction like I would on a Telegram post, but upvoted instead. Reddit had upvoting downvoting but wondering if Lemmy, being an open source innovative software, should evolve past the upvote downvote and allow for a wide range of emoji reactions to a post.
What content do you miss on Lemmy?
Where do you realistically expect the world to be in terms of meeting the 2050 climate goals?
With evidence mounting on the failure to limit global warming to 1.5C, do you think global carbon emissions will be low enough by 2050 to at least avoid the most catastrophic climate change doomsday scenarios forecast by the turn of the century?...

What are some of your ideas on how to best use AI (specifically those like LLMs) to benefit humanity as a whole?
Why do each of my accounts have different subscription lists?
When I joined the fediverse I thought I’d have an easier time moving between lemmy platforms. So far I have to create a new username/password on each instance and subscribe to all the things I want to on that new account. I kinda wish I can carry my lemmy user to other platforms more easily....
What's your opinion on Opera browser? (kbin.social)
I've been using Opera for a few years now and I've been enjoying its features, UI and everything. However, I (surprisingly to me) haven't noticed many people mentioning it. Also, when I was on Reddit and mentioned that I use it I got downvoted which left me somewhat confused haha....
What have you found to be an effective way to tell if you're chatting with a bot or a real person?
Sometimes it can be hard to tell if we’re chatting with a bot or a real person online, especially as more and more companies turn to this seemingly cheap way of providing customer support. What are some strategies to expose AI?
Crossposting etiquette when you're not the OP
I occasionally come across content in my feed that I think would be of interest to one of the small communities that I participate in. Think photo or article, not something personal. Is it appropriate for me to crosspost the content? Without asking the OP? What about if I ask but the OP never responds?...
