Drinking expired water flavor powder?

I have various flavors like Hawaiian punch and root beer as the powder you put in your water to make it taste better and it says they were best by last year (2023). Is it safe to use them? I’ve never even opened the boxes they came in.

They’re sugar free for anyone wondering

I know covid messed a lot of us up, but I’ve got some troubling news for you regarding the passage of time…

2003? Better be safe than sorry. 2023? You’ll be fine. If it smells good and tastes good, it’s usually still good.

My bad I meant to type 2023

From the title my stupid brain thought you were looking for flavour powder that made the water taste like it was expired/old (maybe for Halloween or as a joke or something) xD

Do they not add the estimated expiry period for food products in the USA? It should be around 18 months for any sachet-based “juice” power, but do a sniff test - most certainly, if the seal isn’t good, then there’s those yummy sugar for the pathogens to grow.

Barx ,

Is it a “best by” date or a real “expires on” date?

Powders like this only go bad after being exposed to moisture. If properly sealed they will last decades.
