Try sorting join-lemmy.org/instances by activity. Lem.ee seems to be the most active (non-NSFW) instance.
I don’t know what the internet drama with .world moderation is about, though, so you may want to read up on the moderation style of other servers.
I don’t think many major servers block .world entirely, maybe Beehaw still does? You may need to set up your own server to fully block the larger servers.
