I’ve got a tablet with way more storage space than my phone. I’d like to be able to access all the files on it from my phone, just for viewing, without having to manually set up both devices for something cumbersome like TeamViewer. But also without having to use cloud storage. Is there any way to do this?
Hi all. I recently got a Pixel 8, and it’s my first ever Android phone. I’m loving it so far and glad I switched over. One thing that’s honestly driving me crazy though is the photo picker. On iPhone it was easy to pick a photo directly within the Messages or any other app, either a recent one, a favorites one, or one from...
In the latest Messages for Android Beta, scheduled send is broken due to a date validation bug. It won’t let you schedule messages after today’s date number in any month. So, for instance, today’s date is 29 November, 2023; it won’t allow any messages to be scheduled in December unless they’re scheduled on the 29th,...

If I only wanted to degoogle and disable other manufacturer’s bloatware from my Android device, is using adb to “uninstall” the system apps from user 0 pretty much as effective as rooting and using something like debloat terminal while rooted or are there bypasses that make rooting the better option? I’m not concerned...
Hello, I’m looking for something to help me manage my daily tasks, something I can check off my chores, and they show up again the next day. I heard about todoist but they immediately wanted me to sign in or create an account. Is there anything out there that doesn’t require that? All I can think of that it’d be useful for...

I have a Pixel 7, stock Android 14. It is my only phone and I love the stock system. But I am trying to gradually ditch Google and its services, for reasons well-known in this community and Lemmy in general. How much would I gain/lose using a custom ROM with/without GApps?...
Hi everyone. I’m starting to feel a bit discouraged at this point. Other than the Google pixel, I don’t seem to see any new mobile being supported by custom ROMs in the US. Samsung devices are out of the question, not much from Motorola, OnePlus decided to retract their hard-brick reversal tool, same with ASUS, and even the...

I have a Oneplus phone which has a beta version of Android installed. I side-loaded it a couple of years ago from the official source (Oneplus website). I don’t remember if it received any further updates, I think it didn’t. I don’t know how to revert back to a stable release. It has been working without any problems. I...
