Seems like Reddit is experiencing issues at the moment, maybe a good time for more users to find their way to Lemmy communities?

Just deleted my 12+ year account on Reddit and I’m still feeling weird....

Does anyone remember the livejournal? How it was sold to the SUP and the arrests and harassment of participants for free speech began in Russia?

I recently opened the app to ensure that it infact does not work anymore, but it just showed me the newest feed, like it did before. What is going on here? Are people funding this? Or have they switched to a third party API for read only?

One of the hurdles to change for users switching from reddit to a federated platform is less content. The logic goes: “smaller community, less content, I can see i’m missing out on stuff over there so I’m not going to switch away”....

This is honestly probably for the best. It’s a really bad idea that we’ve let reddit monopolize niche knowledge

Is there some script, addon or something that will take data from GDPR request and delete content, especially comments, one by one? redact had this capability, but it’s not working now

Curious about if there is any discernable difference anyone can see if they may have popped in to Reddit today? I know it's probably naive to think there would be a big difference first day....

This could affect a lot of peoples searches. I don’t know about you, but when my laptop stopped working correctly last month, the best solutions were still ones that google linked me to reddit to read… That said, don’t believe every news article on the internet and all that…

i have been working through the stages of grief over my dear, departed friend reddit. many years we spent together. it has been clear though, that the reddit governance committees that now exist in the corporate ether have different priorities than those priorities that governed its creation....

Has anyone started to create some form of ‘Copy’ Project for Reddit, Not like a clone of the site or something. I’m more thinking of a project that’s goal is to almost duplicate what Reddit currently has on it directly to Lemmy or other Fediverse platforms?
