I feel like a search plugin needs to be added to PeerTube to allow search and use of YouTube, with the added benefit of downloading the video (in the background) and adding it to PT.
I was referring to options like kobald ai, is that old news? I downloaded a bunch of stuff and it worked great, but that was months ago so I was kinda surprised not to see the option on the list.
I don’t know what that is honestly, also because I’ve never actually tried any of that stuff, I just follow the news here and there.
Anyway, I think this article focuses on commercial options made available for free through external websites, I don’t know if that’s also what this Kobold AI does, if not then that’s your answer I guess
Friendly reminder to build from source and not execute unknown .exes if you’re a windows user. It is very common for a program to be “open source” in theory but add unwanted stuff in their official executables. Those programs look alright, but never hurts to be careful.
For me? I installed it and set it up according to the instructions, didn’t work. Reported it, got tech support, still doesn’t work. And I never got a good reason why, just that “it always works.”
Most people love it, so I’m not saying its not great. Just that all I get is errors
Are the indexers (torrent sites) you are trying to add to jackett blocked by your ISP? If so, they won’t work in jackett without a VPN, just like how they won’t open in a browser without a VPN.
Awesome list. I was already using most of these but the DNS is new to me, so I’ll give it a spin. I was already using AdAway on my phone but that was already handling the DNS traffic, so I had to disable it. I like the Mullvad DNS better because AdAway was working as a psuedo-VPN which wasn’t ideal
Mullvad vpn is one of the few if you actually give a shit about privacy
If you just want ISPs to have an excuse to play dumb to what you’re doing then the usual suspects are pretty much fine. Just don’t expect them to offer even a sliver or privacy from any governmental agencies (basically true for all of them although some make it policy to make it as impossible as they can to prevent nefarious (under guise of benevolence…) eavesdropping
People probably took that as a passive aggressive attack against the app and a show of support for Google/YouTube’s ad blocking policies. Try not to take it personally, people round here and back on Reddit always have their hackles permanently raised when it comes to issues like these.
