this is now international news because she’s member of the Green party (who are held to a higher standard) and was dumb enough to use the Hitler salute to protest being arrested

Nobody should ever drink and drive or do the Hitler salute. And any politician of any party who does something like that should resign immediately. Whether politicians of certain other parties would actually resign, is another question though. Mr “I’m the friendly face of national socialism” is still in the Bundestag at least.

I don’t condone what she did. She deserves ostracization, a penalty according to the law, and losing her career in politics.
She did resign immediately.
I just think this doesn’t have international relevance.
In any case, it doesn’t detract from the credibility of the Green party.

The district has 341,155 inhabitants, its council 55 members. That’s roughly 160 ppm.
