I definitely used to run this on Wine (probably through Playonlinux) many years back, but I can’t remember if text ever looked fine, or if I just put up with it.
Anyway, tried it on my newer laptop just now and it shows up the same as yours. I think it’s the antialiasing (or shadow?) which is showing up solid white that is making it hard to read. I tried installing a fairly random selection of “winetricks” type things, but none made any difference.
You can slightly increase legibility by swapping the font - you can stick another font in the root folder renamed as “Comic Book Normal.ttf” and it’ll replace it - but it doesn’t solve the issue.
If you (or anyone) does solve it, it’d be good to know what the solution is.
p.s. I’ve got that menu song stuck in my head now.
The problem might be in the engine itsself, as the source code of the specific game is calling what seems to be generic text rendering features of the engine.
Yeah, I tried looking to see if there were other Blitz3d games with Wine reports etc, but found nothing useful so far. I feel like it’s done this text thing for a few years, but the game is a little too obscure to find a solution for.
As someone from Portugal, this was the first thing to come to my mind. Also, the show is nice overall. I just don’t enjoy the American guy’s forced accent. Joe was his name or nickname I think. It feels too forced borderline cringe.
This has to be taken from the top of the Stowe Gondola, at or above Cliff House. It’s staring right down the barrel of the lower terminal for that lift, the red building near the photo.
To be clear - they’ve been doing this for years, but you used to have to take your car into a dealership for THEM to apply a patch, this is actually MUCH EASIER.

But… you should really wear a seatbelt. Actually, haven’t cars been giving users seatbelt alarms for like… over 30 years now? It’s a strange hill to die on, friend.
Oh absolutely I buckle up pretty much every time. But if I want to take the car 2 minutes down the road and I deem it an acceptable level of risk to not bother with the belt, I shouldn’t be harassed to do so by my own machine. You boss around your tools, not the other way around. A little light on the dash should be enough, its not like I don’t know what im doing. Also our countries regulations on that may be different most cars from the early to mid 2000s here don’t ding you to death. If it indangers other peoples health and safety sure but me not wearing a seatbelt isn’t hurting anyone but potentially myself, if I end up crashing through the windshield and splattering on the asphalt thats the consequences of my own very stupid) decicion.
Oh man, my wife bought a 2023 Rogue, and the seatbelt notification goes off for all three back seats, even if no one is back there! And you can’t turn it off! The dealership recommended just buckling all the back seats by default. It is, by a pretty wide margin, the most irritating thing about that machine. I understand the frustration. I guess I’m more diligent about the front seat buckles, because I’ve never even seen the front seat buckle light.
That’s fair it felt tankies adjacent, that’s why I posted here. Forgot that the grooms children thing was there oops when he brought up the Biden laptop it just felt like a funny and possibly accurate tag for them, in my fucked up sense of humor
