That ain’t a paradox, chief. You illegally invaded another country, got slapped with sanctions, became an international pariah, and are now desperate for anyone to do business with you. If Putin really cared about exporting grain, he wouldn’t have backed out of the Ukraine grain export deal.
Funny, I do remember thinking yesterday that having teams installed by default is basically Internet explorer all over again. On the other hand, from what I’ve seen I don’t think most companies really care and that they would install teams anyway. The integration with the rest of Microsoft is really convenient from a business perspective. My work uses it, and teams is scary efficient at scheduling meetings. Far better than zoom.
this is absolutely justified. my company switched from Slack (which we all largely enjoyed using) to the bundled Teams (which causes problems all day every day for everyone) solely because they were already paying for Office and Teams was free.
on the other hand, i can't imagine how much money we're losing from the lost productivity...
I just read about it in the news since I no longer use Teams. But having used it in the past and then have switched to a Slack+Zoom combination. My god. It’s just on another level. Having two products that each focus on one thing and try to make it great kinda works.
Anecdotally Slack has it’s fair share of issues once in a while. Zoom barely ever.
I hope this makes Microsoft unbundle Teams from Office. It’s ridiculous how much of a market advantage this has given Teams and it’s nowhere near worthy of it.

A lot of guilty rich people are found innocent and a lot of innocent poor people are found guilty. The justice system is frequently flawed in its execution.

There’s actually some pretty important reasons to assume someone is innocent when a judge says so. Or do you really want to live in a world where everyone rules by consensus that you’re guilty the very minute you’re arrested?

That’s because anyone with a rational mind won’t be satisfied with the result of our judicial system. It’s a massive joke that benefits those with money.
When you live in a world that is rampant with fraud and corruption, and a world filled with judges and lawyers who are happy to accept a bribe for dishonesty, it’s really really hard to walk away from a court case with a feeling of fairness and honesty.

Plus we’re talking about things which are by their nature very difficult to prove. It’s literally one person’s word against another. Or in this case, nine people’s word against one. All that this ruling tells us is that there was insufficient evidence to convict him beyond a reasonable doubt.
No, but that also doesn’t mean he’s protected from the court of public opinion. Just because a court declares someone is innocent or guilty does not mean that I have to personally accept the court’s decision, particularly given how often verdicts can end up being wrong.
Even if Spacey is not proven to be a rapist beyond all reasonable doubt, he is still probably a rapist based on the volume of testimony against him, and that’s enough for me to distrust someone.

I don’t know Spacey, I have no illusions that I have zero understanding of who he is, but there’s no evidence here. People shouldn’t be punished for having accusations thrown at them, that’s not something they control.

There’s a big difference between being found innocent and not being a complete piece of shit. This dude was obviously using his power and position to grope people, harass and convince people to enter sexual situations with him. He admits to it and basically just says it was “a pass” and they wanted it.
While I agree strongly with the latter statement I have a lot of reservations with the former. I am incredibly happy for her. But this decision as has been the case most of the time in the past decade with the exception of Ukrainian refugees is a decision on an individual level instead of an institutional one. There are a lot of people who are either asylum seekers, people with asylum or quota refugees with similar situations and danger levels. Making individual decisions leaves them behind and only aids one person. Basically, it is good PR with limited results increasing already existent inequality among refugees in Spain.
Spain is a fairly difficult country to get into if you want the law to treat you in equal terms as any other citizen, if you belong to the wrong nationality. Latin Americans are often received with open arms, while Africans usually end up working below minimum salary without legal protections due to the lack of means to regularize their situation and the fear of getting deported.
Islam would be fine if they behaved more like moderate Christians or Jews. People seem to forget just how violent the Bible and the Torah are. But the modern versions of those religions don’t take their cannon all that literally.
