On one hand, I really wish there was a RES add-on for Lemmy. Just so I could filter out the cascade of posts about reddit. I left the site and don’t give a shit if it burns or not. On the other hand, this is pretty funny to read about.
I’ve been considering making something like RES for Lemmy. Not sure if I really have the time, but if nobody else steps up to it in the next couple of weeks, I’ll see if I can.
Exactly. We don’t really need RES for lemmy because we have lemmy-ui project. It’s all out of my wheelhouse, but with community contributions, there’s a lot of awesomeness that could be added to it as optional elements.
It isn’t always on the drivers side. It can be on the passenger side, sometimes front, sometimes rear… sometimes they put it in the glovebox - depends on the car manufacturer.

So many people incorrectly think they should go by the number on the tire, not knowing that that number is the max that tire can hold, not the recommended pressure. Putting the max amount in prevents the tread from contacting the road flat, which will cause the middle of the tread to wear quicker than the rest. Same for too little pressure, but in this case the edges wear quicker than the middle. Using the recommended pressure for your vehicle ensures the tread is contacting the road evenly all the way across the width of the tread, and gets you the best gas mileage and treat wear.
It makes me sad to see what happens on Reddit, but actions like this keep my hopes up. Not for Reddit itself, but for the community and its people, wherever it will be. :)
If you get wheels or tires that need a different pressure you have a few options. I have used a sticker in the glove box, open the glove box and put a sticker on the inside of the part that opens. Those temporary name stickers from an office supply store work, just write the info on the sticker with a marker. I would not cover up the factory sticker because you may want to go back to the original setup or sell the car at some later date and keep the aftermarket wheels or sell them separately.
The only time I have seen them changed is on a chassis cab, the up fitter will add a new sticker.
Chances are even if you change your rim & tire combo on a passenger vehicle the pressures will still be the same. They are based of the weight of the vehicle and the load capacity. Maybe if you do something real crazy it would change but going from 17" to 18" won’t effect it.
This blackout has really shown which subs have actual in-touch moderators, and which ones are just the admins’ puppy dogs
A while ago, I had a comment auto-removed on WPT and got a message it was because my account was “not in good standing.” When I messaged the WPT mods, they explained that they were test piloting a new tool the admins plan to use. For example, if you have a throwaway email address, no email address, or are connecting via VPN, you may be “not in good standing.”
With things like that on the horizon, even if they roll back on what they’re doing now, we’re still not likely to have a very good time on that site.
I can’t blame the mods who are trying to make change through protest (and who may not even be aware of the “not in good standing” BS), but I don’t plan to stick around, and I don’t foresee a very bright future for reddit at all.
That explains why I got banned a while back and was told I violeted the TOS, but the crime they listed (Abusing the report button) was neither in the TOS nor something I actually did.
Honesty I think the big political subs are incredibly bot infested. Political content is an amazing way to make people mad and get them to spend more time on a platform, increasing engagement and letting reddit deliver more ads. It’s not like it would be the first time they used bots to drive engagement and make communities look bigger.
Where is this cat jumping from? The counter? The woman in the back? The ceiling? And, where does this cat think its going? The camera was clearly out and in position before the jump (throw?!?). The only scenario that’s vaguely plausible to me is that the woman in the back was holding the cat for a picture, and then it somehow got free/jumped, pushing her back behind the plant but still clearing the tulips. @robotdna , do you have any more info about this?

The lady is throwing the cat onto a bed, and people were accusing her of being mean to the cat, so she posted a video of her tossing the cat, and the cat is running right back to her with a swishy tail. At one point she stops and ignores the cat, who proceeds to meow and put paws up on her leg, begging for more.
Real YSK is be careful with these features and settings if you’re not sure what you’re doing. Some of them have security implication. That’s also a security good practice to disable developer options when not needed. But yes, go in there and have a look, it’s interesting
