The ocean is a key point for sure. Go south inColorado and you have the sand dunes and the indigenous housing carved into the rock walls, go east and you have the prairies and grasslands, go halfway west and there is the Rocky Mountains, go further west and it’s landscape mimics that of the desert with the high erosion canyons. Also, can’t sleep on Red Rocks amphitheater and Denver’s culinary options. We also have 54 mountains that are above 14,000 feet that provide views that CGI can’t even match.
Yep. All good points, except the culinary options in Denver since I just assumed we were talking about nature or geography. I have been to every tourist attraction within the state except Mesa Verde, but that’s just another excuse for me to visit and drive through CO again! 💚
If we’re talking about culinary options, I believe Bay area or LA will have far more than Denver, since the cities have people from literally almost every country because of Tech or Hollywood. Again, CA isn’t even in one of my top three states, but that’s just going to be true for huge metropolitan areas.
I think caves have a bit more variability to them which makes them a bit more thrilling. Mines, being artificial, are fairly uniform and while very cool don’t have the variability or the natural aesthetic that the most impressive caves do.
That’s a ripoff. I imagine that theater is a lot nicer than the one nearest to me but tickets are usually $12 for an adult and $6 for a child. But on Wednesdays all tickets are $6 regardless of age. They call it date night but you don’t have to bring a date. You can even come alone. Or so I’ve been told ಥ_ಥ
The popcorn isn’t even all that expensive either, but the drinks are. I think mostly because drinks are the easiest to sneak in.
That has been his goal since he got forced to actually buy it rather than just boosting the stock so he could make a profit, which like most of his antics was really the only goal (publicity and money)
Not having to break the contract with his investors who are some very powerful people. Better to say “the libs killed it because they don’t like me.” And then get bankruptcy protection.
I work at a pretty high end movie theater. All seats are recliners with tables, there’s a full wet bar and restaurant quality food, and we do events and shit too. Tickets typically run $10-$15. This is ridiculous.
One, Mathematics is the language of nature. Two, Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. Three: If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge. Therefore, there are patterns everywhere in nature.
nature just follows the laws and quirks this universe has. the plants, animals and subatomic particles will keep doing the same, regardless if we have a tool or theory that can describe what they’re doing.
sure, there are patterns everywhere in nature, but i would not go as far as to say that that makes mathematics a language of nature.
Eh, no. Mathematics is an hallucination of ours we are trying to desperately map onto reality. I say this as a mathematician. When you look out into our reality, you know what we see? A curved universe. There is nothing in our reality that is truely STRAIGHT.
YET, we creatures came up with such an unnatural thing as a straight line. Straight lines are a uniquely human hallucination. Its the logic we use to make sense of the world, but its a Rorschach test of our own making. You are attaching meaning to it because thats what our brains do. generate meaning out of chaos.
I need to look no further than pi, which is a number that represents our feeble attempts to push the round universe into our square heads. Its trying to represent the curved universe as a straight line (and visavers) - and reality said : LOL, NOPE!! YOU get a number that is more illusive than the irrationals. A never ending non patterned number.
All of nature is not based on mathematics. Mathematics is the language we use to describe nature. Thats like saying the Grand Canyon is BASED on book describing the Grand Canyon.
1.) No its not. Its our language, not nature’s.
2.) To a degree, yes. But thats because our brains are pattern seeking and pattern generating machines - not because nature follows a system WE made up.
THIS is a graph of a discovery that I made in number theory. Does it look like it has a pattern to you? I think this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, because IT MAKES NO SENSE. which means, we still have a lot to discover and learn
