We adopted a rescue too. He’s a blue-point himalayan…I think? Absolutely gorgeous creature I call Totoro after the mythical creature he resembles.
But it’s clear he has had a hard life. Frost bite around the ears, a broken sternum that appears to have healed on its own, and an incurable FIV infection that went into his gums requiring all his teeth to be removed.
Fortunately for us, all of the initial expenses including neutering and vaccines were covered by a vet school who were using him as a test patient for students. He is still a little on the expensive side, but we haven’t been hit with any earth-shattering bills yet, so I feel I can contribute a modest amount towards your gofundme. Good luck with Pippy!
Our rescue is great! Most loving creature I’ve ever known. He craves human companionship even more than food.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !neuroscience
@Xylinna Chrono Trigger also had New Game+, which basically created the term for RPGs. I played another JRPG long before Chrono Trigger, where enemies was visible on the playfield in dungeons: the infamous Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (fantastic soundtrack BTW).
Clearly, you aren’t a super white American. My family tree got filled up easily up until the 1600s because I have a bunch of family members with nothing better to do than catalog our family tree. Apparently one half of my family came from Scotland in the 16th century so I can claim that I’m Scottish-American now.
It’s because American doesn’t tell you anything about where your ancestry is from. You could be from anywhere in the world and be American. Scottish is a pretty specific things, as is just about any other nationality.
I still only say I’m American even though my family is largely from Scotland. WV Appalachian (I think Appalachian in general) has a large percentage of Scottish ancestry, and it also shares the same mountain range interestingly enough.
Chrono Trigger is so far ahead of its time, it’s insane. Enemies visible on the field map, battles taking place directly on the field map, character positioning mattering immensely, multi-character attacks, incredible music that holds up today, a compelling story with something like 15 total endings (granted, it’s not like they’re ENTIRELY different from one another, there are a few major branches with a few variations each)… Most of these things would all but vanish from games for twenty-plus years. I remember when Final Fantasy 12 came out, it was lauded for having the enemies shown on the map and battles taking place on the map as well.

On desktop, I have uBlock Origin, Disconnect, Privacy Badger, Clear-URLs, Decentraleyes, Bitwarden, Multi Account Containers and Facebook container, old.reddit (which I no longer use since I left the site), RES (same with old.reddit). I don’t really use a lot of app-specific extensions and I’m more focused on the general privacy and security ones.
I think Disconnect and Decentraleyes do the same thing right? While its slightly worse there is a ublock orgin filter list you can use instead of clearUrls (raw.githubusercontent.com/…/LegitimateURLShortene…)
If kitty is young, be aware that your girl may actually be a boy! Orange girls are very rare. Unless the jibblies are out, loud and proud, it can be very hard to determine sex, even for a vet.
It is definitely a girl, turns out she’s a about 8 months old. She’s just very tiny. So not only is she an orange girl, making her very rare, she also has a bobtail making her very unique. She’s very special!
