Also if your car is German and the country you're in is not, you may find yourself in a situation where your car is bitching about tyre pressure but the only pump you can find at a petrol station is in PSI and the label is in Bar, and the only way you can convert those is to desperately wave your phone around like a madman trying to get some working internet while freezing cold in the rain. You might be well served by doing that conversion up front and writing it down somewhere.
It isn’t always on the drivers side. It can be on the passenger side, sometimes front, sometimes rear… sometimes they put it in the glovebox - depends on the car manufacturer.
Source: used to work in tire shop.
So many people incorrectly think they should go by the number on the tire, not knowing that that number is the max that tire can hold, not the recommended pressure. Putting the max amount in prevents the tread from contacting the road flat, which will cause the middle of the tread to wear quicker than the rest. Same for too little pressure, but in this case the edges wear quicker than the middle. Using the recommended pressure for your vehicle ensures the tread is contacting the road evenly all the way across the width of the tread, and gets you the best gas mileage and treat wear.
It makes me sad to see what happens on Reddit, but actions like this keep my hopes up. Not for Reddit itself, but for the community and its people, wherever it will be. :)
Where is this cat jumping from? The counter? The woman in the back? The ceiling? And, where does this cat think its going? The camera was clearly out and in position before the jump (throw?!?). The only scenario that’s vaguely plausible to me is that the woman in the back was holding the cat for a picture, and then it somehow got free/jumped, pushing her back behind the plant but still clearing the tulips. @robotdna , do you have any more info about this?
I actually remember the original post waaaaaay back!
The lady is throwing the cat onto a bed, and people were accusing her of being mean to the cat, so she posted a video of her tossing the cat, and the cat is running right back to her with a swishy tail. At one point she stops and ignores the cat, who proceeds to meow and put paws up on her leg, begging for more.
One of the things I like about programming is it feels like legit magic. You infuse a lightning stone with words of power that bend its mind to your will.
One must be cautious. The stone will do what is asked of it. Exactly what is asked of it. Ask carefully.
Ehh it’s testing the kids to see how much they learned of the racism Chinese people faced on the West Coast (North America) back then. It’s also a good way to have students emphasize empathize with those experiences too by making them write from that perspective.
I use uBlock Origin and SponsorBlock for YouTube and I haven’t seen an ad in ages. When I do see an ad, it’s because I’m trying to browse on somebody else’s computer.
SponsorBlock in particular is life changing. You don’t realize how much nonsense filler is in these videos. You can easily cut a 10 minute video from a mainstream YouTuber down to like 6 or 7 minutes worth of content if you skip intros, skip recaps, skip sponsorships and product plugs, and skip interaction reminders.
That isn’t what gaslighting means. The term refers to a type of psychological abuse involving the denial of a person’s own reality as a means of gaining power and control of a victim. It is not simply suggestion.
This is a reucurring theme at this specific subject unfortunately. He doesn’t seem to put much effort into it, as most slides are just plain text and nothing else. I stopped attending after the second class.
That truly sucks. Yeah, some professors can be like that. I had a math professor offer bonus points to the first 3 students completed the assignment, only for the majority to cheat and just look up the answer and turn that in. It became a contest of who could copy the fastest and one student even admitted to doing it, but she just didn’t care and gave points to the cheaters anyway.
