While it is theoretically possible to put a mosquito in your mouth and bite down on it, it is highly unadvisable and unsanitary. Mosquitoes are known carriers of various diseases including malaria, dengue fever, Zika virus, and West Nile virus, among others. When they feed on blood, they can pick up these diseases from infected individuals and transmit them to others. So, biting a mosquito could potentially expose you to these diseases.
You can get an electrified racquet… then just stand there swinging it wildly like a lightsaber, listening to the crackle and pop of your tiny bitey enemies dying 10 at a time.
The enemy is never ending, it’s kind of a Sysphean task. But for a few brief minutes you will once again feel secure in your place at the top of the food chain (also your chances of being reincarnated as a mosquito are increased by 100000x)
Are you using a pihole? My pihole was filtering anything on catbox, which is one of the more popular image hosting sites here. It was causing exactly what you’ve described. Comment sections would load, but the content wouldn’t appear. Once I whitelisted it (and a few other popular hosting sites) the images appeared.
Here is another picture. you can see the church in the background. The right side is the road to the houses, and on the left is the speed-way with 2x2 lanes. It was (still) crazy back then.
EDIT: I was corrected. Its not. It is the substitute road.
Here is a recent picture looking from the other direction. Again the church now on the left. It was a crazy project but it was well received by the Altstadt/Oldtown.
In the German Wikipedia you can find another nice picture of the Rhine-Bank (Rhein-Ufer). It shows the Steps to the Rhine in 1900 - before the asphalt rolled over all that land. Notice the church and Tower in the back. And today.
