It’s a centralised network. They need to make maximum profit and don’t need to care about users, because they won’t leave whatever nasty thing happens. Being on there encourages friends and family to stay and suffer too. And keeps people off of decentralized networks.
I’m surprised people stay on Facebook, then grizzle about how bad they’ve helped it become.
A bit like when we renamed all the master/slave terminology using different phrasing that’s frankly more useful a lot of the time, I think it’s about time we got rid of this “child” task nonsense. I suggest “subtask”. Then we can reword these books into something that no-one can make stupid jokes about any more, like “how to keep your subs in line” and “how to punish your subs when they’ve misbehaved”.
Definitely. Last week I made a tortilla press after breaking my cast iron one. Yesterday I made a batch of flour and a batch of corn tortillas because my wife doesn’t like corn tortillas. Today I made another tortilla press.
When everyone was making bread during covid I made some tortillas. I have a reputation as a prepper. My wife was confused why I wasn’t going out and buying everything. After eating some tortillas she said “so you can do this all the time. This is why you aren’t out panic buying. Because you can pull this off in an hour instead of 8. Why aren’t we eating tortillas every day?”
