Yeah. I’m making more of an effort to comment more than I ever did on Reddit. I also feel like my posts are much more likely to be seen here than they were on Reddit.
That and he’s a mega insecure duchebag. “I don’t know, I haven’t been listening much music lately” would have worked just fine, or at the very least it couldn’t possibly be this bad.
I’m pretty amazed that people don’t immediately hear the stereotypical doucheyness, as well as the teenager-pandering, intelligence-insulting, terrible messages the moment they hear Nickelback.
Maybe I don’t hate Nickelback for the same “gut” reasons the internet does, but I sure do hate them.
I was not a hardcore reddit user. I made just 2 or 3 posts in those few years I was using reddit. I was mainly reading posts and comments. I was using Sync for Reddit and there I noticed Sync is comming to Lemmy, I signed up to get notification when it’s ready, but that’s pretty much it. But today I wanted to browse reddit and I couldn’t, and I didn’t want to use official app, because it’s just crap, so I registered on Lemmy, searched for Lemmy app, found Connect, installed it, tried it and I have to say I kinda like it. I really hope Lemmy grew up even more.
Holy smokes! Honestly I don’t know if we have or will make much of a dent in r*ddit, but at this point I don’t care. We’re building a new enthusiastic community and doing it fast. It’s a lot of fun.
Yeah, completely killing Reddit was never in the cards in all honesty. Creating legit competition is good for everyone and this is definitely an awesome place already.
probably will die every minute now. it’s a mystery to me that it is still alive. either reddit has forgotten about it or dunno. some people speculate that the dev is maybe talking with reddit about a deal and that’s why it’s still alive. but who knows.
Could be, I remember he did a survey shortly before the blackout about what we thought he should do. Maybe enough people said he should try to work it out? But yeah, who knows for sure...
How closely do these sea lions and the local population interact? Are they a problem in any way? Or rather, are the humans there infringing on them in a negative way?
They will crawl up onto the sidewalks to sleep. You find them everywhere near the coast.
I watched as the boats came in with the days catch and the workers gutting the fish. The sea lions were waiting basically between the legs of the workers waiting for some hand-outs. It doesn’t seem like the locals see them as a problem.
