Yeah well that’s not the worst honestly… I have the exact model and for reasons I cannot explain the ergonomics are incomparable with me. And I’m a mac user for my music production activities so it’s not like I’m a hater - I really don’t care. But I’ll stick to only using the touchpad on my mac book pro.
That’s a one-way ticket to carpal tunnel my friend. Just get a nice, non-apple mouse. That’s what I did and I couldn’t be happier. Video editor, so we largely work the same way.
Plus with even a cheap mouse these days you can customize different buttons - great for your workflow.
Trust me when I say this, wrist pain does not seem like a big deal until it starts happening. Then it affects literally everything you do. It took me months to get mine under control, it was awful. And now I have to constantly be taking preventative measures in a way I didn’t have to even just a few years ago. Admittedly this was largely due to using my phone too much, but I also relied too much on cheap mice and trackpads.
Grip style. People grip their mice in different ways and the Magic Mouse really doesn’t work for palm grippers. For fingertip grippers it’s one of the most comfortable mice ever made; for everyone else it’s hot garbage.
Idk about valentine day but for everyother x-day, I (used to) always-just make a card myself, it’s not hard tbh and really I think a homemade card might should be appreciated more
Some people don’t attach value or sentimentality to $5 valentine’s day cards and would rather just spend time with their partner and spending time picking out a good card for each other can be fun. I personally like the funny ones so it can be fun to pick those out, show them to your partner, have a laugh together, and then put them back. The card brings the same amount of joy, but you don’t have to spend money or throw it away later.
The Fed printed at most 200bil in 2023, down from 330bil in 2022. There’s about 2.25 trillion in circulation and about 15% of the notes are destroyed every year, which is loosely equivalent to the cash order the Fed created, give or take a couple of percent. Inflation for 2023 using the Consumer Price Index was about 3%. That means net cash supply didn’t really change much and prices went up.
If you think that ~200bil in cash has any effect on inflation I’ve got an amazing investment opportunity for you: it’s called crypto and it’s totally legit.
You raise a really interesting question there. I always ignore Tether as a joke because it’s just a crock of shit. But what happens if someone makes a run on Tether? They publish accountability reporting which, crucially, tells consumers to inform themselves of the general risks and potential legal issues. It would appear that Tether does have ~80bil in USD assets of various maturity. Only ~400mil of that is cash. There’s another ~20bil in other assets. If there is a run on Tether, it collapses at under 1% of its balance, ie of the ~100bil in Tether only ~400mil/0.4bil of it could be converted to USD today (well, 2023-12-31 per the last report). Since it’s not insured, there’s nothing to prevent a run on it. Its value is supposed to be its ability to be converted to USD, so if a run occurs and people are not able to make the conversion, its value plummets and can only be rescued by the fire sale of assets well below market value. Tether, more so than fiat currency, has completely made up value.
I’m not a finance person so I bet someone that knows more than me has already done a better job of explaining how Tether is a scam.
This is absolutely gorgeous! How would one go about cloning this onto their system? I have been using NixOS for a bit now but have not messed with home-manager or flakes yet. Is it possible to just clone all your files and redeploy? Any articles or videos explaining the process to clone your setup? Thanks in advance!
Please, give me some time, the repo is messy as hell now. If I were you, I would not do that now. I’m going to refactor the code, make it more modular in order to allow several WMs and themes. I’m also gonna introduce instructions for installing all of this)
However, the best way to enjoy system you use is configuring everything yourself, though it requires some time. In the past, when I copied configurations from unixporn posts, I always ended with dropping them and reconfiguring everything, as I like it)
Holy crap I can’t believe you modified the README so fast. Thank you so much for the extra detail and clarity, your contributions to the community are invaluable.
In order to figure out, what’s Nix, how to use flakes and home manager, I’d recommend watching LibrePhoenix. It’s absolutely fantastic guides. His repo with Nix config is also great, it’s the one, which I’m gonna take as a reference
As I was coding in C++ my own Engine with OpenGL. I forgot something to do. Maybe forgot to assign a pointer or forgot to pass a variable. At the end I had copied a NaN value to a vertieces of my Model as the Model should be a wrapper for Data I wanted to read and visualize.
Printing the entire Model into the terminal confused me why everything is NaN suddenly when it started nicely.
