I’ve been so upset with google for a long time. It might be seamless if you don’t live in china or whatever, but for me it’s been pain for years. A few years ago they stopped accepting my credit card. this year they stopped accepting my gf’s card (she’s chinese). I tried to verify my identity with passport images and...
Hi, ive been pirating stuff for a bit and I currently use Picotorrent, but I wanted to know what everyone else uses to see if there is a better option.
People who don’t care that they are being spied on/ having their data harvested by facebook, instagram, whatsapp, google, amazon, oracle etc… are the same ones who pirate without a vpn or i2p. I can’t stand this “so what if they have my data?” attitude. You ask anyone if they would feel comfortable leaving their car...
Now before y’all throw pitchforks at me for a number of simplifications I made here, I did so with intent so let me break them down real quick....
I’m considering joining my first private tracker. It turns out that most of them need you to pass an interview connected through your home IP. I understand this is a reasonable way to filter scammers and duplicate accounts. Still, to those who did it, how do you feel knowing your main IP is stored and associated to your...
If you post on Threads, will it also appear on Lemmy since they both uses ActivityPub protocol?
Is there a way to see what posts you have upvoted? I was trying to show a cool thing I saw on lemmy earlier to someone but I can’t seem to find a list of my past upvotes....
I used to downvote fairly often on Reddit as a sign to disagree or to push down really disgusting bigoted comments. And to be honest, it became a habit to just downvote without replying. However, now that I’m on lemmy and not Reddit I’ve been actively trying to not instantly downvote things and instead move on or take the...
How close are we to games with open worlds that have no loading screens? I just imagine how seamless and great it would feel if you could enter a shrine in TOTK with no loading.
I’ve got a big music library of CD rips that I’d like to share, but my ISP routes my traffic, meaning I can’t forward shit to my computer. I can’t change ISPs because I live in a functional monopoly and this is the only provider with reasonable data rates. Is there anything I can do to share? Thanks in advance!
Newbie here. When I open the Mastodon app all the images are blurred. Tried to change that in the settings but still nada. screen shotsettings
Does anyone know if Lemmy has support for a “replicated instance”?...
Hey, I’m not sure if it’s allowed to ask for help on hunting for specific files but this doubles up as a question about the best place to get books....
Hello! I’m a Reddit refugee, and use to frequent the step parenting subreddit for support/tips etc. I can’t seem to find a community on lemmy though. Does anything like that exist? TIA!
If anyone sees this, the answer is probably yes. I can’t tell if this thing is working.
