This is a good “I am Very Smart” candidate which surprisingly doesn’t seem to have an active community here on Lemmy yet…and I might be just fine with that now that I think about it. It seemed like half the posts there on Reddit either were mean spirited, called out the wrong side in an argument, or were actually smart.

Yeah I don’t think anything of value is lost if we don’t recreate all they bully subreddits.

They’re unhealthy for their subjects, of course, because imagine seeing a post you made when you were younger on one of those subs and reading all the comments about how terrible a person you are

But they’re also unhealthy for the subscribers and readers - rage scrolling will fuck you up

Hard agree. They attract people who like feeling superior to others. You can imagine where things will inevitably lead when you put a bunch of them in the same place.

That aside it just reeks of trashy.

Almost! It’s in the central train station of the Dutch city Den Haag.

You can see the text “Den Haag Centraal” in the back, I recognise that font and styling as what the Dutch railways company uses.

Yeah so much was clear, but the building that has the text “Den Haag Centraal” is the actual station. This picture is taken from the building opposite, which appears to contain several different things, so it’s not, like I thought, a ministry building.

I’m not sure she’s correct about milk melting faster than cream or that the “deflates” if you whip too much air into it.

One of the three main differences between the ice cream and gelato is air content. ice cream has more air and doesn’t loose it over night; it would be bubbly too with all the air escaping. Gelato melts quicker because it is served 10 to 15 degrees F warmer than ice cream (this main differences).

Low air content and warmer temp is why gelato is smoother.

Source: My Italian wife and I have had long discussions and Internet searches on the finer points of this topic. I’m not an expert, I could be wrong.
