I've finished: Paladin's Grace by T. Kingfisher

In this anxious time of destruction and war I couldn't handle any extra load. T. Kingfisher with this (mostly) low stakes cozy romance, was all I could handle. She helped me wined down and get some rest.

There is something compelling about women with sensitive noses and chivalrous knights. (See also, Clockwork Boys).

How would capitalism react to fines placed on causing extinction?

I was impressed by Beauman's understanding that you don't need to be evil to participate in the ecology's destruction. The extinction industry arseholes aren't competent or smart, just indifferent and greedy.

I've finished: Neom by Lavie Tidhar

This is one of the better Tidhar novels I've read.

The name dropping is more subtle through most of the novel and his ability to imagine a future middle east that is not mired in the current conflict yet is rooted in the history and mythology of the area is wonderful.

@bookstodon I'm looking for book recommendations for an 11yo who reads at a much more advanced level. He likes sci-fi. He has read the Hitchhiker's Guide series and loved them.
