I’m getting to the point where I spend more time reading books I’ve read before than trying new work. If I read it more than a decade ago I remember vaguely enjoying it so I’m not wasting my time but the details are a fresh delight. Used to be 1:1 but now closer to 2:1 old favourites. Just me?@bookstodon

I finally read Ancillary Justice last night. Late to the party, but glad to have gotten here! I enjoyed the book but it also sort of felt complete to me. Can anyone tell me how the sequels are? @bookstodon

@lunalein @bookstodon they are all right but never quite reach the heights of the layered stories and perspectives of the first book.

What I love about rick Riordan's novels is the thing of setting ancient myths in modern times. what I don't like about them is the sheer amount of teenaged angst and people not communicating with each other.
So, I'd love to read something like that, but for adults. Any recommendations welcome.

@KaraLG84 @bookstodon “The Minotaur takes a cigarette break” by Steven Sherrill is my recommendation, with several Madeline Millers (song of Achilles, Circe) close behind.
