…more than half of all Black folks in the US live in the south. Georgia alone has over two million Black folks living there (hi, I’m from Georgia and I’m Black!) I’m Southern. My whole family is Southern. I’m the first generation who didn’t grow up on a farm. This isn’t my damn culture. Don’t erase us in your zeal to smugly dismiss the South, when there is not a single damn state in America that didn’t have a sundown town.

Maybe I’ll start helping to increase the activity here.

That’s what I’m doing. I never posted anything on Reddit. But I decided to actively start posting over here to try to help the communities/magazines grow. So I’ll post anything I see that’s interesting to me, and in a bunch of different magazines. I’ve had to make a concentrated effort to drop my lurker tendencies.

Couldn’t tell you; haven’t really touched Reddit since the original Blackout and haven’t missed it at all.

If you want this community/magazine to be better, might I suggest you be the change you want to see and start posting articles and making comments on the topics being talked about? Active users make for active communities.

Do you know how to hunt or set traps? Do you know how to butcher an animal without nicking a bowel and tainting the meat? Most folks don’t. I know I don’t. I would die if left out in the woods and having to fend for myself.

If you can’t at the very least identify what mushrooms you can or can not eat in the forest, you should not go out there to live. I 100% can not, so my dumb ass will never try to go live off grid out in the woods. I can’t find food and I acknowledge that. More folks need to realize their limitations.

I feel like too many people do not respect nature. They romanticize it, and that’s a very dangerous thing. They forget that you need actual skills to survive in the wild. This didn’t have to happen.

My PC is a prebuilt I got for not that much a year and a half ago, and it plugs directly into my TV with an HDMI cable, the same as my consoles. It's actually next to my TV, and I play with a wireless controller. You don't need a special set up anymore for that, so long as your TV uses HDMI.
