Hey, y’all! Just another random, loudmouthed, opinionated, Southern-fried nerdy American living abroad.

I’m moving off kbin to lemmy, so I won’t be posting from here (unless kbin social gets it together).

Ok, but this isn’t just about Elon and Tesla?

The study examined eight AI-powered pedestrian detection systems used for autonomous driving research.

They tested multiple systems to see this problem.

I’m sure that will be of great comfort to any dark-skinned person or child that gets hit.

If those are known, expected issues? Then they had better program around it before putting driverless cars out on the road where dark-skinned people and children are not theoreticals but realities.

I think that’s more it’s a headline that can be misinterpreted than misleading. I read it as it was detailed later, as worse at spotting kids and dark-skinned folks than at adults and light-skinned people. It can be ambiguous.

No, I really wasn’t sure if it was a weird power-play I’ve had folks online do where they THINK they’ve found out my real name and are are using it to throw me off.

And oh, bless your heart, you’re still trying. You have yourself some kinda day now.

Please block me. I’d block you (actually, I will anyway), but blocking on kbin is busted and means you would still see and be able to comment on my posts. Hopefully they’ll fix that.

People are still hanging on to silly gamergate-era hate of Kotaku and get angry just seeing the name, and will go out of their way to argue why anything Kotaku says must be stupid and wrong. It’s wild.

The few times I post a Kotaku article, regardless of what it’s about, far too many folks just completely lose it screaming “click bait!” or completely blow off any points they might be making.

I was talking with a friend of mine who played the whole game last night, and they completely agreed with the idea that FF16 really had issues with how they handled slavery.

But oh wait, I forgot I can’t have an opinion because I didn’t play the game myself, as someone in here told me.

There was a story recently about a 13 year old girl in Mississippi who was forced to give birth because of their anti-abortion laws. She had been raped at 12 by a stranger while playing outside in her yard. The cops did absolutely nothing about the case until Time Magazine called them about the story they were doing on the girl.

If cops won’t even look for someone raping children in broad daylight, what are they even for?

Man, it must be so awful to be so terrified of everything that you think the entire world is a constant threat you have to be armed and guarded against.

Microsoft did the right thing by softening their stance on system parity. Insisting on it would have hurt the Xbox further along the line, but now devs know they can still release on Xbox if they can’t get one or two features to run on the S.

Exactly. It’s Hanlon’s Razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Stupidity alone more than adequately explains what Elon is doing to Twitter.
