Yeah, for me my family and close friends have no problem because I explained and told I am not going to use Facebook products. But when meeting new people, especially groups of people there is a big barrier.

Without bridges only if WhatsApp incorporate Matrix protocol. There must be something to translate different APIs/protocols.

To be honest the things that matter on optimalization now on mobile are app size, what push notifications providers it supports and the speed itself is only a little concern.

But it matters in compatibility situations, like running mobile apps on desktops or on other OSes.

Signal wants to provide updates themselfs to make sure they are fast in case of big security bug. F-Droid can lag behind to provide new version of app.

But they should at least provide F-Droid repo.

RCS is still not available for Android. For now proprietary Google Messages is required to connect Google proxied RCS servers.

And I would be suprisied if this won’t stay that way.

First being able to use the service first-class on the desktop without registering with phone app first. Second is using native desktop technologies for the app, as Signal currently uses Electron so it is basically a website running in separate Chromium web browser without tabs.

Egalitarianism is saying about all lifes being treated equally by default regardless of gender, race. It does not say if any life matters or not, here you can add another terms.

It’s basically a base on which you can build. Feminism on the other hand is specifically targettet at woman’s problems and social inequalities, not saying it’s a bad move, just that it won’t ever mean equality overall. It is a subset of egalitarianism and also it will be much easier for feminist to also become egalitatian or the other way around.
