Putting it mildly. Wasn't the White Goddess mostly speculative? Much as I've enjoyed some of his writing.

We kept goats in the mid-1980s.

A neighbour chased an escaped one up and down the village mainstreet and then she brought it to our field.

"But none of your goats were missing!" she exclaimed.
"So where is it?" I asked.
"I let it go."
