@bhawthorne @theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @disabilityjustice right? Disabled parking placards are hard to enforce already imagine 24 million people having to provide documentation or get fined or worse. Slippery slope sadly

@bhawthorne @theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @disabilityjustice that might be so but knowing the US Government they will charge for it, make it difficult to get and keep because if it expires or not provided to you anymore they will make bank off you just like they do with Parking tickets, Red Light Cameras and Speed Cameras. Plus we all know how much they love to lock people up too

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic @disabilityjustice Problem is that it would be a very difficult thing to enforce fairly. Do we create ID’s labeling us as Disabled to the Government which opens up a can of worms with deployment of creation of the identifications. According to:

Approximately 25.5 million Americans have disabilities that impact their ability to travel independently, requiring accessible public transportation services, including priority seating.

The ADA mandates that public transportation systems provide accessible features to accommodate individuals with disabilities. This includes lifts, ramps, and designated seating areas to ensure safe and convenient travel for those with mobility impairments and other disabilities.

Public transportation providers are required to offer paratransit services as a complementary option to fixed-route services, providing door-to-door or curb-to-curb service for those who cannot use regular transit options due to their disabilities.

I think requiring documentation to prove every person who says they need to use the seat will cause problems in many areas. But I do agree that there are always people who abuse the Senior or Disabled Priority seats but I worry that the Government will require us to all register which will add to privacy concerns, increase our expenses, and enforcement could be a nightmare.
