When Netflix clamped down on password sharing I expected a mass exodus back to pirating and more people self hosting like I did.

Instead they complained for 3 days and brought out their wallets.

Just earlier today I had to beg my cousin to get a DOS laptop with an i3 and ssd over a windows machine with a celeron + emmc for the same price. The task of installing windows was enough to make him see these options as equal.

There are A series phones with custom ROMs. You can check telegram groups or the xda forums for more info on your particular device.

The popularity and demographic of the phone does affect the ROM availability a lot, however

  • it’s basically an arch installer plus a bunch of presets and scripts to get you started. The goal of this distro is to guide you to your first Arch install. I did that, but stuck with Arco.
  • the absolute friendliest linux community I have come across. The creator himself is likely to answer most of your queries. The youtube channel is a goldmine. Shoutout, Eric Dubois!
