Someone in the other place got me onto sharing 1 randomly selected kindle book a day from my enormous collection. Here are my first three.

The Conductors by Nicole Glover is superb. Magical, mystery, historical & a romance all rolled into a fantastic package.

The Twisted Tree by Rachel Burge is a nordix YA horror & it's fantastic.

A Spirited Tail by Leighann Dobbs is book 2 in the cozy Mystic Notch series & features cats who talk to each other & an oblivious ghost-seeing MC.

Jason Reynolds will be the keynote speaker for the Virginia Library Association Conference next week so today I read Long Way Down (powerful) and Ain’t Burned All the Bright (poignant). @bookstodon @librarians

Finished Legends and Lattes this morning. The last 20-30 pages really picked up the pace and boosted the book's overall rating from 3.5 to 4. A very fun and relaxing read, without too much depth or plot. But that can be allright too!

Maybe I'll pick up the new book by the same author too. Anyone started with that already?

@weebdeluxe @bookstodon I read an ARC awhile back. It will be out Nov. 7. I rated it four stars but I think the audiobook will be five! He’s such a great narrator.

@DarkMatterZine @kimlockhartga @bookstodon I don’t think I rated it five stars but I totally liked it enough to buy a copy! I need more bookshelves first!

@DarkMatterZine @kimlockhartga @bookstodon I can’t seem to get rid of any. I had two that I was determined to donate but then I thought one is getting a sequel and what if I need to skim it before I read the sequel? And the other one might be fun for Christmas. So I brought them right back home.

@DarkMatterZine @kimlockhartga @bookstodon I rarely get print ARCs unless to pass along for library book club consideration, because I have no idea what I would do with them all! I just get dARCs on my Kindle.

@bookstodon Tomorrow (today in Australia and New Zealand) is Awareness Day. What really good novels have you read that feature older protagonists?

These come to my mind:

Remnant Population, Elizabeth Moon

Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, Olga Tokarczuk

Deacon King Kong, James McBride

We Spread, Iain Reid

Old God's Time, Sebastian Barry

@DarkMatterZine @kimlockhartga @bookstodon Listening now! I had remembered that some magic mature woman in a novel said of her rewilding lawn “this is how it wants to be” but it had slipped my mind that it was Harriet Osborne in the novel The Change!
