I’ll finally get to do what that kind stranger online once told me to do and go fk myself.

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

This is already possible. There is a more button (bottom right). If you tap on it you can see an option to clear all search history.

I’m not trying to justify companies underpaying entry devs and the pay sucks, I get it. It’s not a good situation. I do think you can make the most out of the situation by getting a shit paying job to get your foot in the door. Work like a year and then hop to a better job now that you have some experience on your resume.

Thank you for reporting this issue. I’ll get a fix in for the next update.

[Rant] I swear to fucking god. Windows is harder to use than Linux. Have any of you ever USED Windows lately? Holy fuck.

I’m helping a family member build a pc. He wanted to use Windows because “Linux can’t play games” despite me having a perfectly good gaming laptop running Linux that runs all my games, even graphically intensive ones....

idunnololz ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Np. I’m still a bit slow this week because I’m on a business trip. My laptop sucks and I’m also going out a lot more with coworkers so I have less time to work on the app. Releases should get even smoother when I get home next week.

idunnololz ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Sounds weird but sure I can add it for the next update.

idunnololz ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

This already exists as both a gesture, a comment header tap action and there is even a setting to turn taps anywhere on the comment to collapse. How else do you want comments to be collapsed?

idunnololz ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Just to make sure I understand, the feature would auto collapse all children of top level comments but top level comments will be shown by default. Is that correct?

Edit: I guess currently this state doesn’t even exist in the app because there’s no such thing as a comment with all of its children collapsed into one.

[Request] Show upvote color in compact view

The upvote/downvote does not change color while browsing in compact view and remains greyed out, but it does register my vote correctly. Can you please have the color change to better see if my vote registered so I know I interacted with the post, removing it from my front page after refresh. This only affects the compact view,...

idunnololz ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Updated the compact view for the next update. I need to think a little more about the upvote/downvote colors. I’ll save it for the next update.

I implemented this kind of. You can find the setting in Settings > Post List. Can you see if that fulfills your needs?

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

WIP mean work in progress. I use these posts to update users on what I’m working on. 1.0.2 is not available just yet.

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

I’ll add the first 2 things in a bit.

I remember I added the themes however I cannot find them either. Which probably means I implemented them on my desktop at home but forgot to check in that code. I don’t want to re-add them so I’ll add them in in the next update.

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Couldn’t implement everything in time so I’ll work on it more this evening.

[Bug] After I read an article, sometimes I'm not brought back to the right place

Sometimes when I read an article in the Webview and go back, I’m at the top of my Subscribed list instead of the post where I came from. In the History I can go back to the correct post, but when I go back from there I’m again at the top of the Subscribed list....

[Feature Request] Combine Community

As it is known, lemmy has many instances. There are similar communities in different instances. Is it possible to gather and display similar communities around a single title? For example, if there are 3 different technology communities, if you press and hold a community name in the subscriptions section on the left, the...

@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

I think I’ve seen this feature in some Reddit apps before, with a name like “multi feeds” or something. Currently the lemmy API doesn’t support this AFAIK so it would need to be entirely client sided. This makes it a bit tricky to implement due to sorting.

For instance, let’s say you have 3 communities [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. Let’s say you have them in the same feed and sorted by Hot. The server will provide me with 3 different list of posts for each community but how do I merge 3 lists together while preserving the “Hot” ordering? This requires the client to know how posts are scored on the server and implement it client sided.

Lemmy is open source so I can find the algorithm used to score the posts based on the sort type and implement them client sided but this does feel hacky as the client is imitating server behavior.

Funny enough this is literally how the inbox feature works today and why inbox too so long to implement. Inbox was actually written in a reusable way so I could potentially port it over for communities with some small changes.

In any case I think this feature is too complex to implement at the moment and I would prefer to hold off on it until I’m done some of the other features. I will add it to the roadmap. Maybe by the time I get to it this would be added to the Lemmy api so I wouldn’t need to do this client sided.

Thank you for reporting. This is a known “bug” or a quirk due to the way it’s implemented. Although the UI shows “bookmarked” and “subscriptions” as the only 2 types of community bookmarks, there is technically a 3rd type. The special “home” bookmark. That is why you are technically allowed to both bookmark and make the same community as home.

As for why you cannot remove the bookmark, that is likely a bug. This is probably an edge case where both the home and the subscription share the same community. I’ll look into a fix for the next update.

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

It’s wide because it’s draggable. If it was narrow you wouldn’t think to try to drag it.

As for the square edge yeah that is more of a older design choice. I can look for update it for the next update.

@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Wait I didn’t change the back gesture I don’t think (or it wasn’t intentional). What do you mean?

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Did you enable compatibility mode?

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

There was a user that was experiencing some really bizzare bugs. It’s odd that it’s disabled but you still notice a difference. Would it be possible to show me a recording of what the transition looks like? I’ll also try to reproduce it on my end.

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

I wonder if the animation you saw in the last update was actually a bug and it was fixed this update, causing the animation to show correctly.

Here is how it’s supposed to look: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7AhZSjDuXE

@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah that’s a bug. I’m pushing a fix now. Hopefully should be available in the play store in an hour.

idunnololz OP ,
@idunnololz@lemmy.world avatar

it’s 100% compatibility mode that’s causing that. Update should be out so it should be fixed now.

Coming up in the next update.

Yep this is planned. I just isn’t super high priority at the moment. I’ll try to add it by the end of the week.
