I am looking for a book to read that has enough mentions of music that I can use as a playlist for while reading. can be fiction or non-fiction.

examples: Ellis’ Invisible Man; Chang’s Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

I’m considering Bass Culture or Dilla Time, but will be grateful for any recommendations!

If you like romance, Chloe Liese’s books also have playlists - one series has them all collected in a list, and another has a song title at the beginning of each chapter. F. Fox North’s books The Chaos Agents and The Tender Familiar have playlists as well.

This never occurred to me. I read anytime throughout the day - whenever it strikes the mood. I think reading is good for you, no matter the time of day.

Anybody else feel the same as the writer of the opinion piece?

@MagentaRocks @bookstodon I’m with you - I read any time of day. If I have a divide, it’s that I’m more likely to read nonfiction during daylight and fiction after dark, but it’s not exclusively one or the other.

Immediately before bed is the time I do the crossword puzzle. 🤷🏽‍♀️
