@Nohoch_Ol You can follow hashtags: posts your instance is aware of, via following folks / url pasting.
Caveat: Can't put em in lists.

The Advanced Web Interface can pin a column as a persistent hashtag search. Plus mix in 3 more tags (and/or/not logic).

Or follow a.gup.pe group accounts: bots that boost any public posts mentioning em. Somewhat like following a tag. Except they CAN go in lists.
