Just wanna add that Dorothy Day is currently under consideration for sainthood in the catholic church, the Pope also used her as an example when speaking to congress of what each one of the representatives should be more like.

I’d say he’s about the closest to liberation theology as we’ve ever had, maybe ever will have but hopefully that isn’t the case.

I’m so sick of this dogshit argument. If your main focus right now is Palestine which side is the only one right now that has ANY elected official calling for a ceasefire. If it’s not, then which is the only one that has ANY people demanding Universal Healthcare. Which one has ANY people willing to seriously deal with climate change. Which one has ANY people that care about drug legalization. Which one has ANY people willing to support unions. Which one has ANY people actually trying to reform the country instead if turning it into a fascist shithole, the answer to any and all of these is invariably the Democrats, specifically the (growing) socialist/progressive faction of them.

If you don’t like the policies of the moderate Democrats then volunteer for your local party, most of the people running your county party are old as fuck, that’s one of the main problems with the Dems. Vote in every single primary for the most progressive option. Donate to and volunteer for your progressive state representatives/senators. Help your coworkers organize a union and increase your lobbying power. Join a progressive/socialist election work group like Progressive Victory or any of the countless others. If you aren’t doing at least one of these regularly, then you have no right to complain that the party isn’t listening to you. You’ve given them no reason to.

I’m probably gonna get hate for this, but I think our presence in Syria (and too a far lesser degree in Iraq, specifically Sinjar and Iraqi Kurdistan) is completely justified. Not only is the revolution in North and East Syria/Rojava incredibly hopeful as a new stable and egalitarian Middle Eastern democracy, let alone it having some policy positions more radically egalitarian than most of Europe, but our actions in Syria and Sinjar have been some of the few almost unadulteratedly good military actions of my lifetime.

Between us and the YBS, we stopped a genocide in Sinjar, and im glad we’ll be there to stop one again if ISIS ever resurfaces like it’s currently trying to.

The “safe” country exemption is preposterous and arguably illegal under international law too, there’s a reason even people from so called “safe” countries like Mexico flee to the US.

Why should DEI stretch to accommodate them when they’re performing equally as people without DEI? DEI is not about ending all oppression but ending measurable differences in education based on opportunity, which involves not giving it to groups who don’t need it.

Honestly it’s possible. Certain diocese of the church (looking at you USA) have become far more conservative as the rest of the Church has passed them by. Vatican 2 has fully taken hold, and I really don’t believe the conservatives hold enough power in Rome to elect one of their own when Francis passes.

They very well might just take their ball and go home like the “Old Catholics” did after the reforms of the First Vatican Council.

Okay but if people switch their vote from Biden to Stein or West or Kennedy then it’ll just guarantee the vote is split between Biden and them and hand the presidency directly to Trump and we both know that’ll just make things worse.

Biden, who has not done anything with the wealthy’s tax rate.

Again, not for lack of trying. Build Back Better would’ve included taxes on the rich not as much as I would like for sure, but more than Obama or Bill.

Biden also supports the PRO Act, the most pro-union piece of legislation in almost a century if it passes. so while the rail strike was disappointing, it’s disingenuous to say he is against worker rights.

I’ll yell from the roof tops about it every single time something even remotely similar is brought up. The Fair Representation Act would go a long, long, long way in fixing the inherent structural issues we have around voting and representation in this country.

Essentially, it turns the house of representatives into a bunch of multi member districts that get elected through proportional representation. Would both kill Gerrymandering and the innefectuality of third party voting with a single law, not even an amendment. It would also require STV/Ranked Choice Voting for all other federal elections like the President or Senators.

Unfortunately, because it’s such a procedural and non-sexy law, it’s having a hard time gaining broad activist support beyond heavily involved people like staffers, aides, and the like.

Yeah, they could’ve done better with the New Game+ for sure, which to me isn’t exactly surprising since it’s their first main line game to have it.

I do appreciate that there are considerable differences to the story on certain replays, but it’s a slog doing basically the same thing every time. I wish there was a bit more variance.

The flying between or into planets/loading screen issue, I think, is entirely due to the pressure from management announcing early, and then a rush to meet the original deadline, and then another rush to meet the Microsoft mandated delay. Fixing it could’ve been worth it, but it would’ve certainly taken an uncertain number of months, which wasn’t worth it to management or microsoft.

I do think it will be remembered fondly eventually just like every other mainline Bethesda game has been, though.

Yeah, my first build was a stealth character, I did it just fine. You’re mostly likely specing your builds wrong for stealth or wearing a million pounds of armor clanking around thinking you’re being stealthy. There’s specific armor pieces meant for stealth, which also help a ton.

The weapon modding isn’t broken. If you find a gun with a suppressor, you can take that off and put it on the same model as yours. I don’t think needing a skill/crafting to make a whole suppressor warrants the game being called broken.
