AstridWipenaugh , to news in Americans don't want to fight for their country anymore

I’ve finally reached the age where I don’t ruminate about being drafted anymore. I turned 18 shortly after 9/11 and registering for the SS was terrifying. Now I just have to worry about my two sons coming of age and being drafted into WW3. 😞

Not covered, IMO. A pharmacist isn’t writing the scrip and isn’t administering the treatment. They’re merely completing a retail transaction, albeit one with a lot of paperwork. If they have a moral position against doing their job as prescribed by law, they should find a new job.

A care provider, like a doctor or nurse, has personal involvement with the patient. I’m ok with refusing to perform a procedure they disagree with, as long as there is no negative impact for the patient.

Yep! I have a normal phone number and get unlimited voice and sms, and 5g data metered data at $10/GB. They have an unlimited plan too, but metered works best for me. It’s actually serviced by ATT and Verizon IIRC, so you connect to whichever is best.

I use an esim with a Pixel and Google Fi. The setup process is this:

  1. Sign in to Google account
  2. Complete normal phone setup
  3. Confirm notification prompt to use this device with my fi account
  4. Never make phone calls ew gross

Nope, no recording allowed. Best we have is this masterpiece from the courtroom sketch artist (this is real).

Biden can also veto any bill for any reason. “No funding for Israel until there’s a ceasefire”

I think the issue is that the question doesn’t appear to have been asked earnestly. Preemptively answering your own question with “sounds like activism” communicates you have already formed an opinion. If you’re asking out of genuine interest, check your preconceived notions at the door and only ask the question. Just “what is this 1819 site? Are they known to be a reputable source and do they demonstrate bias?” Is a good way to ask it.

AstridWipenaugh , to world in Obama says people need to acknowledge complexity of Israel-Palestinian conflict to move forward

It’s a tale as old as time. Just like the Hatfields and McCoys. They’ve hated each other for so long neither side remembers what started it and both sides have a list of grievances longer than they can keep track of and the score can never be settled. It’s to the point where there is no right side; both are wrong. You can make arguments that one side is more wrong than the other, but I’m not in favor of a “let the least wrong win” approach. Both sides are objectively wrong and both sides must stop.

AstridWipenaugh , (edited ) to news in Rashida Tlaib claims in video that Biden supports Palestinian genocide

What has Biden done to stop Israel? Yes, he’s said he wants a ceasefire, but the US vetoing the UN resolution for a ceasefire, sending warships to the area to prevent anyone else from attacking Israel, sending Israel military aid, and continuing to insist Israel “has a right to defend itself” when the death toll is close to 10:1 Palestinians to Israelis all go in the “hell yes” column. I’m genuinely curious what actions you believe go in the “no” column. What has the US done to stop Israel?

Edit: downvoted with no reply. Thanks. That’s exactly the answer I expected.

AstridWipenaugh , to lemmyshitpost in The Peasant Life

The average life expectancy was low, because so so many people died very young. If you made it through your 20s, you’d be pretty likely to live to what we still consider “old age”.

For people living traditional lives, without modern medicine or markets, the most common age of death is about 70.

A humanitarian pause… you mean like the UN resolution calling for a temporary ceasefire that the US vetoed?
