I found Cixin Liu's 'Death's End' gripping, but also disappointing. It's full of brilliant SF inventiveness, but it's politically/philosophically simplistic, and it has a bizarrely essentialist approach to gender.

The adaptation of () (2024) is simply a summary of 's adaptation released in 2023, set in the UK + with a disturbing E05.

Oh, less appealing special effects too, and less impactful scenes and dialogues.

This is an audacious, brilliant follow-up to ‘Three Body Problem’, marred for me by politically naïve worldbuilding and writing of women characters that is frankly misogynistic.
