On 28.07.1944. members of the 7th SS Division "Prinz Eugen" (Volksdeutchers from Yugoslavia) and 21st SS Division "Skanderbeg"(Albanians) killed, slaughtered and burned around 400 grannies, women and children over two hours, in the villages of Velika and Gornja Ržanica.
A 1969 letter from a Papal envoy to Vladika Danilo of Montenegro and the Littoral, with an offer of rewards for the removal of Njegoš's chapel and remains and replacing them with a big mausoleum which would house the remains of a Montenegrin woman (who would be canonised).
And now for an aspect of war that is more overlooked in general education and popular consciousness: the humanitarian efforts. #USA had an interesting position in #WWI, first as a neutral nation, then as a participant. This is a small slice of that.
