Today's review! Blizzards and Bullets by Mere Rain:
"An easy read of a short story, packed with fast paced action, suspense, emotions, a little violence, secrets to be revealed, and a romance that will touch your heart. An entertaining short story with all the elements I like."
It's no surprise to see Tolkien featuring prominently in #20books#20books20days #books #bookstodon@bookstodon - I put in only Return of the King because each of the 18 or so times I read LotR I spent WAY more time in the appendices than in the story.
I'm also perversely (pathetically? pointlessly?) proud of having (a) first read LotR when I was 7 and (b) having read the Silmarillion before the Hobbit, which I didn't get to until I was around 12.
I've been reading on my #Android tablet with Moon+ Reader. I wanted to share a quote on Mastodon as an image. I once shared a highlight and exported it into Joplin.
Now I am trying to do it again in a different book and for the life of me, I cannot remember how I did it! I've tried searching and I feel like all the search engines are gaslighting me as if this option never existed. Thanks!

Baba needs to look after himself, but he keeps getting drawn into the horrors of the war in #gaza Susan Muaddi Darraj examines the pain of a crisis that is both remote and close to home in May You Wake Up to a Homeland.
This has reminded N and I of the Bermondsey-born hero of Inherit the Stars, a glorious bit of sci-fi writing which is long overdue a re-issue. 📖 #books#bookstodon#SouthEastLondon@bookstodon
