What are you reading this evening? I’m still reading David Copperfield and also in the middle of Little Monsters by Adrienne Brodeur. #amreading#photography#fediverse@bookstodon
Oooohh, new series, #MissAusten, is going to start filming in early 2024 for BBC and Masterpiece which means it should hit PBS sometime late 2024 or early 2025. Cannot wait!
Reminder, I have my first book for free as a gift to all of you. Mastodon had been a great experience, and I've met many other creative people, writers and artists and photographers all.
The idea of the book is that a robot wrote a journal and I discovered it and published the findings. Not a rip on the current "AI can write books now" situation, I completed the rough draft for this back in 2014!
"Imagine what would happen if you put a robot in a very human situation."
40 months in, and adding books remains the one major pain point of my experience @thestorygraph but after 3 hours work, I'm all set for #The StoryGraphReadsTheWorld2024. Now to hope the promised "Number of books" style challenges arrive soon so I can add these to my "30 nonfiction in 2024". #AmReading#ebooks@bookstodon#nonfiction
All 6 of my challenges @thestorygraph done for the year, woohoo! The one challenge I couldn't enter was to read LESS than last year, and I'm on track to come in at almost exactly 50% of last year's 454 by the time I've finished #DeanStreetDecember23#AmReading#ebooks@bookstodon
"We could recognize her in an instant, even though we’ve never seen her up close. She’s always with us, a whisper on the wind, a shadow passing over our eyes when we’re looking away." - from the story Last Tour Into the Hungering Moonlight by Gwendolyn Kiste in the anthology of Baba Yaga stories, Into the Forest

Good news friends! From the 5th to the 9th of December you can have a gift from me to you: The Full Life of a Robot, gratis.
I ran this promotion last year and honestly, it was great. Read through occurred (that's when people buy the series) but the best thing was meeting Carolina Cardona, a fellow writer and robot nut like myself.
Through out the year we've correspond back and forth, and read one another's work, and its been brilliant discovering the similarities between our stories. It's been very enlightening on the topic in a way I would never have expected it to be, somewhat like assuming Terry Gilliam was influenced by '1984' when he made the movie 'Brazil'. He hadn't seen it, but there were so many on genre items and moments that are in both works.
I saw the same here with my book and Cardona's, despite being different genres of robotics too (cyberpunk v steampunk period piece).
If its not up yet then bookmark the page and come back on your "5th December". I'm running from the Australian Amazon page, so time differences will be a thing.
10 out of 10. THE HEAVEN & EARTH GROCERY STORE by James McBride is my favorite book of 2023 so far. It's a saga, a mystery, & a tale about racism and ableism. From Penguin Random House on August 8. #ewgc@ewgc#bookstodon@bookstodon
