Listening to @neilhimself talking about the history of bagels (based in Polish anti-semitism, I did not know) on my favorite trivia podcast while all the other UK-based hosts are politely like "Lox is what...?" and just being reminded again at how much some of the "traditional" foods for me are unusual/unknown even among... people who know things for a living.
It's almost my birthday :blobcatcheer: and I plan to ask for another book or book series as my present :catsip: :catsip: :catsip: I just think I deserve it lol
I am not sure which book I'd ask for though. Last year (before the total collapse of it all), I asked for the Harry Potter series. I had been dying to get the physical copies of them since I became a fan back in highschool. :blobcathug: :blobcathug: :blobcathug: But since the issue with 𝘚𝘩𝘦-𝘞𝘩𝘰-𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭-𝘕𝘰𝘵-𝘉𝘦-𝘕𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘥, it became stale and I practically had the longest reading slump in my entire life so far.
I wish that whatever book or book series I pick relieves me from my slump. Then I'll finally rejoin reading spaces and (maybe) even join in ʙᴏᴏᴋᴛᴏᴅᴏɴ :blobcatcoffee: :blobcatcoffee: :blobcatcoffee:
Hat wer 1 Ahnung was sich in dieser Szenerie abspielt? Das Foto dürfte, laut Bildformat, in der Zeit zwischen 1910 und 1940 in der ländlichen Steiermark entstanden sein. Habe das Foto bei den Fotoalben meiner verstorbenen Oma entdeckt und frage mich ob es sich hierbei um eine Obduktion handelt. Könnte aber auch 1 Kaiserschnitt sein? Uit! Verjaardagscadeau van twee jaar geleden. Fijn geschreven en een ontzettend boeiend onderwerp, al vond ik de podcast-achtige stijl waarin de schrijfster haar innerlijke identiteitsstrijd koppelt aan de zoektocht naar de drijfveren van David Starr Jordan soms wat teveel van het goede.
Maar ik heb het zelf ook nooit een probleem gevonden om orde en categorieën overhoop te gooien, dus dat zal wel aan mij liggen.

Anybody find it funny when you can "delete" dangerous items by selling them in games?
You have 4 things in your backpack that are not quest items, but are dangerous according to the game's lore, and they are ALSO worth several hundred gold... so if you want you can just sell them, and somehow the bad guys will never figure out you sold a box of 5 demons, six alien eggs and one glass jar of zombie-virus or whatever to the local hafling merchant? They just... disappear?
