Maggoty ,

Are those cans of WD40?

RGB3x3 ,

Those are real weapons. Hamas sprays those on the ground and makes the IDF slip around, complete with cartoon scooby-doo slipping noises.

blahsay ,

Probably not a command centre though who knows. A command tent usually just needs a sigs operation which you can pack and move.

Definitely militarized if you believe all the guns, explosives they found and the video of a guy firing a rocket launcher out front.

NoneOfUrBusiness ,

The guns and explosives they planted (we have already know) they tampered with the "Hamas command center") before news crews were allowed inside), and the video of the rocket launcher guy walking in front of a different hospital. At this point all Israeli statements should be assumed as equivalent to "40 babies were beheaded by Hamas" and "we found a guard shift list under the hospital" until proven otherwise.

blahsay ,

So now there’s literally video of armed Hamas terrorists walking hostages into Shifa Hospital.

Hamas primarily is pushing a propaganda war by causing a situation they knew would cause maximum suffering to their people. They could surrender anytime and release their hostages and end this messed up situation. People like you directly support their plan to cause suffering to the Palestinians.

Silverseren OP ,

The video of the hostages being taken to the hospital for medical treatment way back in October? What does that have to do with the hospital currently?

Maggoty ,

Where else would you take prisoners that need medical attention?

blahsay ,

Hah apparently the spin is they were taken to the hospital for humanitarian reasons. After all the rape and murder the kidnappers decided to take their hostages to the hospital for treatment clearly under duress. Yep such nice guys. Definitely what they’d do.

The IDF is going to move the goalpost soon and commit an even more gruesome terrorist attacks while spouting baseless accusations so people forget about this one.

Silverseren OP ,

They did already today. Look at the massacres that the IDF just did at the al-Fakhoora and al-Zaatar schools.

erranto , (edited )

They don’t care. they work hands in hands with western mass media to sell there narratives, and once the lies are fully digested by the masses. they media doesn’t go back and refute those claims.

They are flooding the media with mass information so that the people just get fed up and don’t bother question their countries’ support to the ongoing genocide

Silverseren OP ,

I mean, at least the media is finally starting to push back with articles like this? I've been seeing more and more mainstream news actually write article directly calling out the blatant propaganda the IDF has been making.

SCB ,

There’s not going to be any pushback because

A) everyone knew Israel was going after the tunnels

B) there’s nothing illegal going on with Israel.

Why do people still give credibility to israel's statements? They are caught lying almost daily and on all important things.

NuXCOM_90Percent ,

The same reason we are regurgitating state run media as indisputable fact on the al Jazeera side.

The vast majority of news outlets have evacuated, been murdered, or are waiting to avoid jumping the gun. Whereas the horrifically biased ones are putting out propaganda as fast as they can. And waiting for facts to shake out is boring…

DoomBot5 ,

Well they did give Hamas 3 weeks to clear out due to international pressure.

Silverseren OP ,

And yet Hamas managed to erase any evidence of their supposed tunnel system completely? The IDF was claiming a day or two ago that Hamas concreted over and "ceramic'ed over" all the tunnels during the 3 days of the hospital siege.

Yet the IDF could show no evidence of those covered up tunnels either.

DoomBot5 ,

Well, if they were allowed to blast holes through everything they wanted, it wouldn’t be such a problem to find these tunnels quickly. Are you okay with that, or you rather wait while the IDF does a less destructive search of the hospital grounds?

Silverseren OP ,

All they need to do is show freshly concreted over areas. But they couldn't even do that. They showed nothing of the sort in the videos they've released of the basement.

DoomBot5 ,

They will show fresh concerted areas and you will claim that’s not good enough, they need to dig it out and show tunnels. They will show tunnels, and you will claim that’s not good enough, they need to show rockets. They will show rockets, and you will claim that’s not good enough, they need to show terrorists. They will show terrorists, and that won’t be good enough because they need to show hostages. They will show hostages, and that won’t be good enough because it’s the IDF, and nothing they will show will ever be good enough.

Silverseren OP ,

When they couldn't show anything at all right off and instead several things that appeared to be propaganda and lies (to the point that even mainstream media is reporting on it), no, I won't believe it.

Them coming back days later to claim any of those is time enough for them to doctor up the claimed evidence.

This is just standard propaganda making, the likes of which we saw all the time out of Russia, for example.

palal ,

Ah yes, which is why the only evidence Israel gives is of guns behind an MRI machine… An MRI machine which, as you may know, is extremely dangerous to operate in the presence of metal.

When did al-Shifa lose power again? Definitely not 3 weeks ago…

Silverseren OP ,

It had power up until the start of the IDF siege, so 5 days ago at most.

DoomBot5 ,

The big power hungry machine is definitely what you want to be spending your fuel reserves on when there is a nicu you’re trying to operate. Some common sense does go a long way in this situations. I recommend trying to use some.

LordOfTheChia ,

That would be a correct assessment:

pubs.rsna.org/doi/full/10.1148/radiol.2020192084

Radiology departments are major energy consumers within a hospital through operation of CT and MRI scanners, which require energy in the range of 0.5–30 kWh per examination, with peak consumption reaching beyond 100 kW for a short time period.

Note that the low side of that are CT scanners, MRI are in the 25kWh to 30kWh range per exam.

researchgate.net/…/344207928_Emergency_Power_Supp…

The neonatal ward of the hospital under study contains 10 phototherapy devices and 4 incubators, with their consumed kWh during the day, equal to 1.08, and 10.76, respectively [16].

So just under 12kWh to operate those 14 NICU devices for 24 hours.

So the energy to perform 1 MRI exam would at a minimum power 28 NICU devices for 24 hours.

On top of that, the peak power usage of an MRI can reach 100kW!

Don’t forget, you’re not only powering the machine itself, but also the cooling it needs to stay operational.

More info:

vitalscan.health/how-radiology-can-be-greener/

An MRI machine can use up to 400kWh per day across 12 hours or 12000kWh per month. This electrical consumption is equal to running 40 average houses for a month

You're a disgusting human being.

With that out of the way, they've been caught fabricating evidence. Multiple times. I'm not sure why you're still believing anything they say.

I'm not sure what you're denying. That Israel hasn't been caught fabricating evidence? In that case I have a bridge (totally not owned by a Palestinian family) to sell you in the West Bank.

    DoomBot5 ,

You still owe me payments on that bridge. Pay up before trying to sell it.

    ShroOmeric ,

Israel is a rogue state, it’s an apartheid state that prosper on terrorim.

    autotldr Bot ,

This is the best summary I could come up with:

IDF videos have shown only modest collections of small arms, mostly assault rifles, recovered from the extensive medical complex.

That suggests an armed presence, but not the sort of elaborate nerve centre depicted in animated graphics presented to the media before al-Shifa was seized, portraying a network of well-equipped subterranean chambers.

This exception, spelled out in article 19 of the fourth Geneva convention, states specifically: “… the presence of small arms and ammunition taken from such combatants and not yet handed to the proper service, shall not be considered to be acts harmful to the enemy”.

“Israel has failed to provide anywhere even close to the level of evidence required to justify the narrow exception under which hospitals can be targeted under the laws of war,” said Mai El-Sadany, a human rights lawyer and the executive director of the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy, in Washington.

Countries such as the UK, Germany and most importantly, the US, have resisted calls for a ceasefire on the grounds that Israel’s actions constitute legitimate self-defence.

John Kirby, the White House national security spokesperson, framed the alleged Hamas facility there as a command “node” rather than a centre, and a possible weapons store.

The original article contains 755 words, the summary contains 200 words. Saved 74%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
