Maybe if modern civilization didn’t condone people making their traditions and spooky superstitions other people’s problems, it would spare a lot of unnecessary bloodshed.

No one cares if you want to pray to Pikachu at 2am every morning except on Tuesdays because that’s Charizard’s day. Anyone is welcome to inconvenience themselves for no reason.

Killing, denying rights, or otherwise imposing your spooky superstitions on others as a basis of validation is when you should be stopped.

You shouldn’t get to hurt other people or elevate yourself over others in any meaningful way in the name of Pikachu/Jehovah/Thanos/Allah/Neo/Yahweh/Morgan Freeman/Buddha/Batman/Zeus.

I blame this conflict on respecting spooky bullshit in modernity when it effects anyone but the worshippers themselves. The Nazis used Christianity as a big validation for their murderous quest for power, this is just a never ending cycle of religious violence that weaves through human history that will continue as long as people are forced to indulge the delusions of others to nonsensical degrees.

But hey, the ever efficient capitalists are eating the religious zealot’s lunch in our species’ race to self-inflicted destruction, so it hardly matters anymore.
