Ukraine needs to rebuild their own armaments industry ASAP. They cannot survive on charity for too long. No need to build the latest high tech weapons. Even 90s era tech beats the Russian 60-70s era equipment. This war will continue until Putin dies one way or another. Focus should be on domestically produced drones, long range rockets and artillery. Reactivate old Soviet tank and aircraft factories.

I get the sentiment of thinking for long-term alternatives toward resilience, but I can’t recall a time in history a small country in the general Eastern Bloc area was able to survive without a lot of outside help. Let alone just start up industry dynamically while their GDP and infrastructure is exhausted on surviving against a—heh—“superpower” opponent.

You’ve got the right idea, but it won’t be viable for quite some time post-aftermath. We’re talking generational recovery here and I should hope support continues to alleviate that, with the addition of NATO becoming an option once the conditions are met.
