It’s Evan Gershkovich, who was a reporter doing his job, and Paul Whelan, who is a crook and idiot who was running a security company in Russia because no one in the West trusted him far enough anymore to give him any money or responsibility. We need Gershkovich back because it’s a human rights violation and Whelan back because it’s bad for our rep if anyone in the world can pick on US Marines without us intervening, even if they are idiots.
Russia accused them both of spying, which is presumably a bunch of bullshit, although who knows it doesn’t have to be.
