Honestly, I don’t think they would. They wouldn’t have complete control, but I don’t think the Ukrainian people would mount an insurgency either. Sure, there would be nationalist separatists, but if Russia took over the government they’d be the military, the police, and the FSB doing FSB (i.e. KGB) things.
