Hamas Divisions Over U.S.-Backed Cease-Fire Proposal Stall Negotiations

archive.ph/2AnOc

Hamas’s top leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, and others, weary after months of war, say they are ready to accept the proposal for an initial six-week pause in fighting, the officials said. The organization’s exiled political leaders, though, are demanding more concessions and want to negotiate a permanent cease-fire, they said.

Both factions looking for the fighting to end in some form is good news

I wasn’t talking about netanyahu, I mean the two major factions within palestine the article is talking about.

Whether or not they want a ceasefire permanently or for 6 weeks, it’s a step in the right direction.

PS, I don’t know what you’re talking about this being a lose lose for Israel, they stand to gain quite a bit from concluding their colonization of Palestine.

I said for Israeli CIVILIANS, not the government.

I guess you could make the argument that the super rich Israelis with the money to buy into the new colonizing project stand to gain, but everyone else loses by the frequency and severity of terrorism increasing as Hamas gains power and influence from the outrage sparked from Israeli government atrocities.

You specifically mentioned the netanyahu government.

But this is not a lose lose for Israeli civilians either, not the least important reason being that all israeli citizens are required to be part of the military for 2 years, and many of them have partisan objections against a Palestinian state reinforced by their military and government.

This is a lose for Palestinian civilians who were trying to establish a state for 70 years.

    And a win for Israel.

Israeli citizens have been colonizing the West Bank for decades; with Palestinian territories physically destroyed, it will be much easier for them to continue their colonization.

Yes, because that’s one of the two parties of the conflict.

notably did not specifically mention israeli citizens.

I specifically mentioned “citizens of Israel”. If you’re going to lie about what I said and didn’t say and build strawmen, at least make more of an effort not to be so obvious.

Huh, I edited that comment way before you replied to it.

You might want to edit your comment based on the actual content of my comment.

Again. You might want to edit your comment again to reflect my comment instead of my mistake that I edited before you responded.

But no, there are not only two parties to the Palestine Israel conflict.

Especially with regards to the article I’m referencing that you’re replying to, which is about factions within Hamas, not the central governments of Israel and Palestine.
