there are no Russian "soldiers" only animals

SuddenDownpour ,

Most of the currently conscripted Russian soldiers are there against their will.

a convenient lie, like everything you hear from Russians

Fades ,

Okay sure they’re there against their will, are also committing these war crimes against their will?

Hyperreality ,

"The only way to solve this, is to give Ukraine no more money so that they're forced to surrender ASAP, and Russia gets exactly what it wants."

ShittyBeatlesFCPres ,

That sounds bad but we don’t know if there’s a tunnel under Ukraine. The rules of war are very different once tunnels are involved.

CobblerScholar ,

Russia is shooting missiles at hospitals and schools, fuck you

ShittyBeatlesFCPres ,

I wasn’t saying Russia is good. I was being cynical about the general disregard for the laws of war in all the major conflicts going on right now.

Fades ,

So, glorified whataboutism? This is about Russian war crimes, not Israel’s.

ShittyBeatlesFCPres ,

I was connecting the main conflicts going on right now under a unified banner of “War crimes are happening.” Like, whether it’s Ukraine, Gaza, the Horn of Africa, Myanmar, or whatever one you have the capacity to follow, shit’s pretty vile.

So, rather than using whataboutism to excuse Russia, I was more saying “These things are all barbarous, illegal, and similar.” The world never had a perfect way to confront atrocities but confront them we must or it’ll only get worse.

Daxtron2 ,

There’s a secret Hamas base under all of Ukraine, Russia is just helping Israel out

Iapar ,

We know that the entrance to hollow earth is under ukrain. Russia just wants to go there so they can kill king kong.

SuddenDownpour ,

Lmao

This is the single dumbest comment I’ve ever seen. Congratulations.

ShittyBeatlesFCPres ,

For real. That guy is dumb enough to be a Russian military strategist. Maybe not as dumb as a Likud supporter but that isn’t saying much.

I think Putin is collecting war-crimes like Pokémon.

VeteranswasteOxygen ,

Their brains are like powerhouses, you know? Always figuring things out faster than anyone else. That’s why I’m absolutely convinced they’re going to smash the corrupt zelensky country

This is the best summary I could come up with:

A U.S. government-funded media organization on Wednesday reported it had received video that allegedly shows Russian soldiers using captured members of Ukraine’s military as shields.

RFE/RL also reported that it had asked lawyers and members of the military to analyze the video, and the professionals stated they believe it provides evidence that Russia’s army had committed a war crime against Ukrainian troops.

Newsweek could not independently verify the video, and the Russian Ministry of Defense was contacted via email on Wednesday night for comment.

A date was not provided of when the footage was filmed, but Robotyne has been the site of frequent fighting during the war Russian President Vladimir Putin launched in February 2022.

The Ukrainian military members who provided RFE/RL with the video told the outlet that Russia was using the shield tactic as “battle reconnaissance” in order to detect firing positions from Ukraine’s forces.

When shown a version of the video by a RFE/RL journalist, Dmytro Lubinets, who serves as the commissioner of human rights in Ukraine’s parliament, said if the events depicted in the clip are accurate, then it would be a violation of the Geneva Convention by Russia.
