If you like this, check out the YouTube channel “Cracking The Cryptic”. They mostly do variant sudoku, but every Friday for the past few months they’ve been solving the Sunday Times Friday Cryptic Crossword and explaining each answer.

Cryptics legitimately look like black magic the first time you see them, but once you hear how it works, it’s surprisingly fun and mind-bending to try and solve them.
