The Rwandan genocide that saw 800,000 people slaughtered marks its 25-year anniversary.

April 7 was the start of Rwanda’s most violent 100 days - Hutu extremists massacred the Tutsi minority with machetes in hand.

The 1994 Rwandan genocide is considered the hallmark example of violence that was ignored by the international community.
