I really do strongly believe that the rise and dependence on automobiles has single-handedly done some of the most damage to society through social isolation, health through pollution and lack of exercise, and the environment through paving over everything and forcing combustion everywhere.

It’s time to start rebuilding local communities to be more self dependent where neighbors hang out, garden, and support their locally run business.

I freaking hate how american cities have turned out for the most part, big box stores that make it harder to walk next door to the next store than getting in a car and driving to the next one. We’ve been conditioned for so long that this is normal when it’s really not, we shouldn’t need a car to get everywhere.

The fact that these laws are still on the books in most places now tells you there’s no fucking chance we’ll change things before the climate goes beyond the point of no return. Changing the laws will take years…and changing the way cities are built will take decades after those laws are changed. We fucked around way too long are are now finding out.
